61  Public Bullboard / General Discussion / Re: Mystery? - How mysterious is the circle of ? on: May 23, 2008, 09:47:51 PM
Circle of ???(the 3rd one is to symbolize that it is a question) If everything I knew about rps might crumble into dust, only the work of 3 legendary rps masters(one mage, one warrior, one rogue) can prevent this. I am in favor of throwing rock more than scissors, scissors more than paper, and paper more than rock. Seriously, someone explain the circle of ??.
62  Public Bullboard / General Discussion / Re: RPS on Videojug on: May 23, 2008, 09:33:36 PM
Well when you're the world champion at rock paper scissors(currently), people will care what you look like. Whatever he has been accused of such as "shameless self promotion" is absurd and untrue. Videojug has provided lots of info about rps(and about rosh himself) ever since those videos were put there. There is one thing you said that is arguable. "Rps mastery is the work of a lifetime, perhaps many." Two, maybe three.

Eye would like to register for it.

You two combined are a force to be reckoned with? Not if you two were literally combined, probably like a mutant. Anyway, custardchuk has given me several reasons to fight him, and I would thoroughly enjoy pummeling him. I accidently voted rosh though, because I misread it and though it meant rps match.
65  Public Bullboard / General Discussion / Re: Whom Would You Least Like to Fight? on: May 21, 2008, 06:02:44 PM
I voted rosh because I wouldn't want to beat up my master(or get beaten up by him, which I doubt since I know martial arts).

Remain nameless? Are you speaking of master rosh(who I know the name of but will only say at his request)? Anyway, congratulations. Also, since when are there yellow/red cards in rps?

Of coarse one must develop their skills, I never said they don't. I merely mentioned the weaknesses of the bell curve and how it can be unrelated to skills. "If you don't know then that is why you don't know" is(or should be) a zen quote.
68  Public Bullboard / General Discussion / Re: custardchuk vs martinburley on: May 20, 2008, 05:23:59 PM
I didn't even know what the fight was about which is why I said I half-side with martin. And when police arrest someone, do you think the judge will sentence an elusive hard-to-catch criminal who was wanted for many crimes but served time for all of them then committed another crime to 2 years or 40 years? Likewise, do you think a first offense of running a stop sign will warrent a ticket of $200, or $10,000 and 2 years in jail? The people involved do matter.

Oh, you passed the test. Congratulations. The real advanced technique is: say "I'm onto your pattern" then choose what beats their last throw. They repeat their last throw to try to throw you off and/or prove you wrong.
70  Public Bullboard / General Discussion / Re: New Player on: May 20, 2008, 08:23:18 AM
General discussion is usually general rps stuff, but some people post stuff completely irrelevant to rps(this thread is not irrelevant though). I see you chose "defect".

"If you don't know then that is why you don't know." Anyway, a win is counted as just one win regardless of who it is against, same for losses and ties. Again, the bell curve fails to amuse me or provide accurate results.

I have, however, studied advanced plays, gambits, chain gambits, many of Master Rosh's posts

That makes two(probably many more than that) of us. And this seems like the thread to discuss trade advanced methods. Here is one for you(you can either respond with another advanced technique (cooperate) or not (defect)). The technique is: rice cake does not sell life insurance to the mountain if you are using two primes show rock on the first prime, paper on the second, and paper on the shoot as they will expect scissors(this is emphasized by saying "rock paper scissors").
73  Public Bullboard / General Discussion / Re: Which candidate would you vote for? on: May 19, 2008, 10:19:47 PM
Erase my self, erase me I say! Now that that's out of the way, can someone's record of wins and losses compare to someone else's fairly. A person playing one game and winning(100%=wins/games played) can get a better record than even master rosh himself or his 3 2 apprentices. On the other hand, a person who plays 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 games and wins 0.001% of the time can get a better record(10,000,000,000,000,000 wins) than master rosh or his apprentices also. The bell curve fails in two different forms.

Or some other logic gate.
75  Public Bullboard / Strategy Discussion / Re: dice on: May 19, 2008, 05:38:06 PM
It is better used between matches in tournaments as a way to fatigue and/or impress other players who will waste their willpower analyzing how your rolls and throws correlate. How much time is there between rounds?
