The DC National Office of the World RPS Society will be closed Thursday, January 20, on account of snow.  The office will close today at 3pm.

All weekly reports due on Thursday can be submitted today.  Alternately, reports can be submitted electronically by Friday, provided forms EF-11 and EFS-12 have been previously filed (electronically or hard copy for EFS-12 or hard copy only for EF-11.)

Non-salaried individuals (except support staff) filling out their time reports should enter code "SNW000" in WinTime.  Tomorrow can either be entered as "SNW000" or "FHL986", depending on whether the day is taken as a snow day or a federal holiday (other) for the inauguration.  Staff who requested the day off months ago can enter either of the above codes retroactively, or keep it entered as a personal holiday "HOL666".

Individuals working from home are expected to consider today and Thursday as normal working days, and should maintain normal working hours.

For those of you out of the loop and needing a little perspective Mr Leatherstep of the Disciplinary Committee sent the following memo to the Washington Office yesterday.

Quote
To: Director of Outreach Ministry, Washington Office, World RPS Society
Re: DC Metro concerns
Date: January 19th, 2005
From: Disciplinary Committee, World RPS Society HQ, Toronto

Dear M. Roshambollah,

It has come to the attention of the Disciplinary Committee that certain protocols have become rather lax in the Northeastern Offices (particularly DC Metro). Please redress the following concerns (or have some damn good explanations) in time for the Winter Office Check Up.

- No less than 47 "Snow Days" have been reported over the last year. 22 of these occuring during what we in the Northern Hemisphere refer to as "Summer".
- The Thursday Reports from the DC Metro office rarely arrive before Wednesday the following week and are so illegible that we suspect that they were written in crayon or perhaps an extra thick Sharpie. As such faxed and inter-office mail reports will no longer be accepted from the DC Metro Office, please confine the Thursday reports to email transmission only.
- Of the over 30 non-salaried employees listed for the DC Metro office only 3 of them are registered on WinTime. We should not need to remind you that we cannot continue to recognize their contribution with the monthly bottle of scotch until they start allocating their time in the system.
- The office is expected to be open on all days of the working week. That includes Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please ensure that at least one staff member is available on site every day (we can't have the entire office continuing to work from home on the same day).
- While we respect the diversity of the of DC Metro office we must report that we have received complaints that the creative facial jewelry and deportment of your receptionist makes visitors to the office squeamish.
- And for Pete's sake fill out your forms!

I think Rosh has got something there with the summer snow days.  What's the point of taking a snow day when it's too cold to play croquet?

Isn't excessive amounts of snow not cause to call in the Army?

Dr. Z, Welcome back!

If you think they're wusses in D.C., you would really chuckle at the offices in Looville, Florida. When tempuratures dip below 65, we start to layer with sweaters and leather jackets.

"Artistic Affairs Presents the RPS Legends Garden" will be closed February 7th -15th. We're taking Hurricane days. We couldn't take these days earlier in the year, as the winds and rain and debris prevented us from leaving secure structures.

Regards,

The Office of Historical Affairs is open every day of the year. Close a day, and we miss a day of history. I'm often disappointed that so many branches close frequently and with impunity.

Sigh.

It's no wonder the WRPSS cannot recapture the glory days when John MacEnroe (not to be confused with the tennis player McEnroe) ran the now defunct Office of Eugenic Exploration. MacEnroe's work ethic was hard-wired, I tell you.

The AAPRLG (Legends Garden) is back to work. I'm currently working on a plaster bust of RPS Master Eugenio Francisco. He is credited with the complete expulsion of dynamite as a throw, from the nations of Bolivia, Argentina, and Peru.

His brave campaigns won the hearts and minds of the people, and were all non-violent in nature.

Eugenio was able to use grass roots tactics to overthrow the corrupt, and illegal, RPS monarchy established in this region by the Spanish and Portuguese conquerers so many years ago.

His death in 1976 is still recognized and observed by millions of people around the world. On Febrary 17th, remember the man that didn't need dynamite, to move a mountain.
