I am honoured, though a little surprised, to be taking on Jef in the Masters of the Bullboard (and that's not because I doubted my ability to win through.) At various times in my career I have underestimated, and I have overestimated, my opponents to my detriment. I will not making the same mistake here. I will be digging into my bag of tricks for any and every advantage I can and if Jef should win then he will be a worthy winner. I am considering leading with Rock. Unfortunately, I have to travel to Milikapiti tomorrow and I am unlikely to return until Friday night (EST). Being a 'Dry' community I would expect to choose to attend the Darwin branch's annual "Dress as your Favourite Player" prawn and beer binge when I return. The two days on the island should give me plenty of time to contemplate the Rock opening however the Friday night should negate any clear thoughts I have. I may submit my first throws on Saturday (EST) but, if I were a betting man, I'd have my money on Sunday (EST), probably Rock first.

Round One Custardchuk : SPRRSRS Hallestone : RRPSSRS
(Set tied, two throws to two)
Jef Please submit a minimum of three throws to resolve the set.
Custardchuk You still have submitted throws in the queue, however since Jef has the advantage of seeing what you have thrown to this point, I will give you the option of submitting new tie-breaking throws, or letting your earlier submission ride.

C'mon Jef, make yer throws already! You are holding everyone up. I hope you aren't choking are you? That would be terrible. In fact it would remind me of that incident at the Toronto Junior Championships in '92.
By the way, how did your mom convince the referees that you were under 18?

Brad,
Please keep James from posting comments like that, I don't appreciate being told to hurry up when I have made my throws.
And more importantly, James is trying to get me off my game by bringing up the Juniors. James knows darn well that I was thrown out of the competiton because my mom forgot my birth certificate and I could not prove that i was under 18. Considering this happened right in the middle of the competition, I had to deal with a lot of humiliation from a lot of 9 year olds. (i don't know if you have ever dealt with 9 year olds in large groups but they can be cruel ((even if you are older than them)))
It is obvious that at the Master of the bullboard level I should not have to deal with this and i will not compete under these kind of conditions.

Round One Custardchuk : SPRRSRS - PR Hallestone : RRPSSRS - PS
(custardchuk leads one set to none)
James, while commentary is encouraged, please try to move issues relating to your and Jef's ongoing personal vendettas to a more appropriate venue.

James, I appreciate what you're doing but it's alright. I can handle him. Say you're sorry so we can move this a long to it's inevitable conclusion. Jef, I thought you did fabulous in the first round. You nearly had me...

I will not compete until James takes back what he says. Jef, while I understand your frustration Arbiter is right that heckling is to be expected at this highest of levels. While I appreciate your longstanding feud with Hagherty and how personal it has become to you both, I would like you to clearly understand that I will not hesitate to penalizing you if I feel your personal disagreements are interfering with the flow of the match. To have the match devolve into such a scenario is exactly what James is hoping for; I sincerely hope such a superlative tournament not result in such an unfortunate scenario.[/color]

I would be fine with all this if it was Custardchuk, but this is all coming from the peanut gallery.
Now Arbiter is calling me a whiner...how am I supposed to compete under such conditons.
Brad: Now, it seems that I am being forced to make my moves right away or risk a penatly? Is it not up to the players to dictate the speed of the prime?
How am I supposed to compete with a clear mind when I am getting it from all angles like this. All I really want is an appology from James.

I did not call you a whiner. At best, it was implied.
I do not dispute that an apology is in order. However, heckling and peanut galleries are part of the game and coping with them is part of the RPS Champion's skill set. This is a virtual match; as you know, the heckling can get much worse at a live event. It's not wrong to ask for an apology. But you can't force James to give one and you can't throw a snit and refuse to play until you get one. Find a way to brush it off and get on with what you've got to do.
For what it is worth, here is my apology: I'm sorry, Jef. That was an unnecessarily insulting way to phrase my comment. I'd had a bad day and let my grouchiness come across in my post. That was inexcusable of me. Can you forgive me?
