Apologies, 'Chuk, for not responding to your request earlier.  Or perhaps I should respond to your "thanks for nothing" with a resounding "you're welcome!" for nothing was what you needed.

Congratulations on your victory, 'Chuk, and on a stunningly well-played tournament.

Custardchuk,

On behalf of myself and the whole gang at Artistic Affairs, we congratulate you on your superior play. You showed great tenacity, brilliant strategy, and the cheeky in-game banter that is quickly becoming your trademark.

You truly are the Master of the Bullboard!

Indeed, congratulations, chuk, on a stellar victory.  I'm starting to think that your "performance" at the Internationals was merely to set yourself up for a win in a tournament that mattered more to you.  Best buck up, though.  You won't be able to hide your talents under a bushel for much longer...

A fine job of officiating by Brad, as well.  Truly above and beyond the call.

Sorry you didn't win Jef.

Chuk, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

I'd like to thank:

My mom for having me ( Dad will sure be pissed when I ignore him if he suddenly shows up now).
My ex-wife and her three sisters.

All those at the RPSOZ office for their support, not least my secretarial staff. Love yuh, babes.

My trainers from my younger days, "Fat" Freddy, "Two Shot" and Mr P.

All the staff at Qantas that kept me from Rosh's party last week. You were right, it was for the best.

Master Roshambolah himself, for insights passed on at the Brisbane training camp and at the Worlds, and for refraining from waxing lyrical on what might have been had he not been retired again.

Arbiter for losing to Jef. I can't wait to have a drink over that one.

Rockefeller for proposing and sponsoring this tournament. ( I was originally going to donate the money to the Retired Veterans Committeee however I may just wait to see how the cards fall.)

Hags, you owe me a beer, mate. Cheers! This one was for you, also.

C. Urbanus who I haven't seen for such a long time, in the finals, anywhere. I miss you.

The Walker Brothers who chose to omit some of my better strategies from their book, The Official Guide to Rock Paper Scissors, to my advantage here.

All those friends at WRPSS who have helped me with advice, (you can never receive too much advice), and with criticism, (You can never give too much criticism). You all know who you are. The rest of you know I don't consider you friends and can go jump.

We all know these big tournaments don't run themselves. A special thanks to Brad Fox, the Benevolent Dictator, who showed impartiality, despite being paid from the same chequebook as some of the combatants, flexibility with procedures where it was in he interest of the game and an iron fist when it was required, like when Jef had a tantrum.

And lastly, I'd like to thank Jef.
Jef, None of the punters and none of the board ever really expected you to beat me and history has proven them all correct. But you never let that interfere with your self-confidence and you carried on as though you could win. You even won a couple of throws off me.

You did, however, put paid to a few who thought they couldn't lose.
I admire that.
You'll always be No 2 in my book.

regards
custardchuk

Yeah, yeah.  I'm glad it did somebody good.  I don't think the ribbing is going to stop anytime soon.

Congrats Custardchuk "Master Of The Bullboard"!

As you know, I had you slated to win this one from the beginning.

Though your results at the Internationals were not the best, there was no question you were in top shape, mentally and physically.

It is one of life's great pleasures to witness an athlete of the mind waxing toward greatness. Thanks for letting me ride along, if only vicariously.

On a side note, I won $100 in the office pool by backing you. And I plan to use the money to supplement the paltry coffers of Southern Outreach. I am not sure if the money will go to help support the annual event in Chapel Hill, NC or whether it will sponsor a trip for a needy RPSer to DC for an event this summer.
Either way, I knew you would be happy to know that your victory will have repercussions beyond the tourney.
All the best,
Scissorman
