Here's an article about Cameron 'Cam' Blair, the winner of the New Zealand RPS Championships. NZRPS wishes him all the best in Toronto.

I typed in Rock Paper Scissors in the search engine on www.video.google.com and found almost 2,600 videos about RPS, including World RPS sponsored tournaments.  This site also had the Saint's Wall St. video, RPS in various media, and tons of other video about the sport.  Since I need to work on training for next year, I might have to check out some of this video coverage to get some insight into the game.

I was watching this horrible game show Temptation yesterday, and one of the ?'s was "in the game of Rock Paper Scissors, what beats Paper."  The girl buzzed in and was all flustered, almost running out of time before blurting out "Rock!"  Pretty hilarious, as I'm sure it was just the nerves that caused her to fail so miserably.

There's a brief scene of a group of Chinese students playing RPS in Lust, Caution. It's a war movie directed by Ang Lee, set in WWII Japanese-occupied China. The students are playing RPS as a drinking game, and while the scene is incidental to the plot, it shows nice attention to detail as they throw Paper eastern-style (fingers spread).

I was watching some old episodes of Beavis and Butthead, and they indeed have a RPS battle in one scene.  Butthead "wins" by slapping away Beavis's scissors with paper.  Sounds about right for the show.

Also saw some RPS action on an old episode of Reno 911.  It was something about who does some crappy job.  Just barely caught it, but it's on there.

RPS got a mention on the Guardian Technology website today, nice photo. The article's about 'ColorWars2008', an RPS-based game on Twitter.

I know this thread is old but I think it still has a lot of merit.

I've been watching the anime Bleach lately (Japanese version English subtitles) and in episode 11 the kids at Uhara's store play the Japanese version of RPS that I've written about a couple times.  This is the version where after the match the opponent says some words and points up, down, left, or right.  If the opponent follows there gaze then they lose.  The best part about seeing this for me is that I'd always had a hard time understanding the words they say during the pointing and now I can rewind without annoying my friends by asking a hundred times.

I was also wathing the movie "Shoot 'em up" and Paul Giamatti's character breaks out a couple nice lines about RPS.  To paraphrase he says something like "I've always had a talent for reading other people.  You should have seen the killing I made in schoolyard Rock Paper Scissors matches."  Pretty good movie too.

I'd say that in Korea especially I see someone playing RPS on tv almost daily.  As this board is the leading source in RPS info and as a creative consultant for artistic affairs, I feel it's my responsibility to share this info for other die-hard RPS addicts  Cool

I just watched my first 3 minutes ever of a show called "The Mentalist."  I think it's about a psychic detective or something, but I've never scene it or even knew it existed until a minute ago.  If what I saw was any indication, the show's got great promise.  I'm guessing the main character was talking about whether he's psychic or not with a cop, and he challenged him to a RPS battle.  He won 6 in a row with a rock-exclusive strategy, pissing off the cop but showing his abilities off.  I could still take him down though.

Sounds interesting!
why not ask him to enter Sprock 7

Apparently there is a magician who claims to be psychic & claims to be able to win at RPS every time.
will try & find out his name & post it up.

I, not being a regular watcher of the show, do not have any details surrounding the basis of the debate on which they decided to use RPS to reach an outcome, but I can say, that whatever it was. Their choice of RPS was just and fair, and the outcome was equally just and fair.
