RPSOZ is announcing a competition to design our 2007 tour shirt.
Use your imagination.
Prizes will be T-shirts with the winning design on them.
Competition closes in two weeks.
Have fun.

What if I develope said technology?
Then I'm able to produce it economically?
All in time for the tourney?
...
Yeah, I'll just draw something up.
So what exactly would the text be?
What color shirt?

I've shown this to a mate of mine and we might work on it together. He's awesome at art and stuff, but he reckons I should come up with the idea.
Thanks for the info.
Cheers, Franklint

*drumroll* TA-DA Here's my entry Changes or additions won't be a problem. I also have high quality versions for print (If I win of course) I may work on another design or two if that's okay.

Very nifty! As for animated t-shirts, deepthought, you might want to get in touch with Phillips: their new Lumalive fabric is pretty amazing...

Deepthought,
You are on the right track but......(I hope you can take constructive criticism)
Let me say before I dig in, I love the look and the balance and the movement.
But (here we go)....
1) Other than the scissor guy, it looks like a bunch of yankee homeboys touring Australia. I'd like to see more singlets and shorts, and less poofy, too phat pants, baggy Tshirts, and ,either bare feet with shorts or long pants with thongs. (As in Japanese safety boots, not N American fantasy gear)
2) The design seems to be male heavy. RPSOZ is a "chick committed" organisation and one of the first sporting clubs in the world to give the little darlings the vote. I'm picturing a girl in a singlet and shorts and boots.
3) The colours are not Australian colours. The Blue guy is close to our sky but a little too pure. And our reds are more dirty ochre and our greens are more blue and grey. If you look at Martin's and Scissorsista's shirts you will find the blue and the red. I'll find you some green.
3) You appear not to have taken advantage of the Lumalive fabric. I can see the hands all changing between the throws. I am also thinking that a glowing shirt with my hotel address and room no and "If you find a person asleep in this shirt take him (or her) to this address and you will get $50.00" may be a good idea.
That's it.

Excellent work deepthought, but I have one major problem. You forgot Tasmania (the little island down the bottom). Oh my god. Tassie kicks arse. How could you not have it there? I hate you. Haha, no not really. Tasmania has to be on there though, me living there and all (and no, custardchuck, I'm not inbred and I don't have two heads). Just a thought. Otherwise, awesome design. Cheers, Franklint

1) Actually, I just ran out back with the camera. I'm "Homeboy Rock" and my buddy is "Scissor Guy" I'll see what I can do about the styles. 2) Paper is actually a karate girl... but if bewbs you want, bewbs you shall have. 3) Quick fix. Hours later... OK let's see how this update looks. I've rehauled the girl entirley. I've added shorts and sandals to Mr. Rock (I left the T-shirt to perserve his left hand on his arm.) Also, the color scheme should better reflect the rustic wonder of the Outback. Tasmania also makes an appearance.

Don't get me wrong, deepthought and martin's entries are great - but you can't have a contest with only two entries... that's more like a coin-toss. Since the boys in the RPSradio art department are literally twiddling their thumbs while this lawsuit endues I had them whip something up to broaden the field. Since the previous entries are light and whimsical, I suggested a darker, hardened, grungy look at the real "down under". A design that warns competitors about the battle-hardened lads and lasses of RPSOZ with the symbols we most associate with them: Rocks, flags, knives and beer... I think the design department did a really nice job: Plus, it's suitable for limited colour screenprinting and works well on both dark and light backgrounds... as you can see with these chosen-completely-at-random guys:

It looks wonderful now, deepthought. Everything about it seems right and "Australian". Well done.
Also a great design, TripleA.

Great work everyone. I was hoping the designs could somehow reference Toronto and , maybe, Frisco.
I'll keep this open a bit longer. It's obviously, Burley excluded, bringing out the best in everyone.
Where's yours, Franklint? The clock is ticking.
