Jef recently proposed to play me for 2,500 credits on Facebook if I reached that level. I was up for that, and was about to challenge him when I carelessly went and lost all my 7,000-odd credits (in three high-stakes matches of epic badness against three random strangers).

Well, I've worked my way back up above 2,500 credits again. Jef, I'm ready for you.

I'll put up all my creds (2,560) against you, giving you the chance to wipe me out if you win.

There's just one condition - this is a duel to the death (or more accurately if less dramatically, a 'ruckus to the recharge'): if I win, you put up all your remaining creds against me in a re-match, giving me the chance to wipe you out. If you win that, I'll put up all my creds again, and so forth - we play like that, every match a high-stakes game with one of us all-in, until one of us wipes the other out.

We'll post the throw-by-throws to this thread. It could be all over for me in just two throws, or it could be an epic battle. So, Jef, are you still up for the challenge?

I am up to play but I am not digging your conditions. If we are playing to the death, I am putting over 5000 credits at risk to your 2500 which does not sound like a good deal to me.

It seems I have more to lose here.

This sounds like fun. I'm glad I'm not the one putting my creds on the line, but I will eagerly watch the game if Jef accepts.

I suck. After working my way up to ~250 creds (I usually play 0 cred matches), I got impatient and stupidly blew them all in some games where I just threw randomly (I know, I know, sacrilege). I've worked my way up to 45 creds again, but I really need some Roshambull coaching so I can win them back.

Cheers,

It's all good with me, Jef. I'd rather win all your creds, but I'll settle for 2,500 of them. I'd be a fool to pass up action this good. Someone's going to get your creds sooner or later, and I'd rather it's me.

Let the game begin...

While we wait for Jef's fans to come out, I have to admit, I think neutral parties out could do worse than put a few bob on Jef. My attention is focused on the upcoming final of the Masters and Neophytes of the Bullboard Tournament, and Jef is due a good performance. Lest we forget, he reached the final of the 2005 Masters of the Bullboard Tournament.

Of course I'm confident that I'll win, and will do all I can to make sure I do, but the odds some bookies are offering on Jef (6-1 generally available, 7-1 at Paddy Power) are astonishing. Even custardchuk would be good value against me at those odds.

Burley or Hallestone? It's like getting a choice between hanging and lethal injection.

Is there any way they can both lose?

Wow... lucky I didn't look at this thread before throwing Rock.

Better to lose a throw from the usual kind of dumbness than from being fooled by Jef's sneaky web skillz up there... who would have thought Jef could be so cunning? (Or indeed, at all cunning?)

RP - Jef
RR - Martin

Jef's 1-0 up...

I agree with Custardchuk.

But as Martin Burley is far less annoying than Hallestone, I'll cheer quietly for Martin.

Yes, sneaky little trick I must say, would have been even better if it actually worked. But the result is still the same...One point for me!

Dammit, Burley has thrown 2 rocks. Anyone with any insight, I am being taunted by a threatened avalanche.

I would love to finish him off in 2 throws

PS - I am traveling to Canada tomorrow, so I may think about my move on the plane ride, so expect a big delay in throws

Dargonit, I got too tempted and went in for the kill, but alas we tied with two papers. It is clear that you Mr. Burley are not to be trusted...but then again neither am I.  Now I got the upper hand with my bureaucratic threat.

Let's see what you do with that one Burley!

I sensed you might try to strike too early, Mr Hallestone. Your choice was always going to be either a clumsy Paper or a fearful Rock. Likewise, this next throw, I doubt you have the nerves to throw a third Paper in a row...

And as I suspected, you ran away to the safety of Rock, like a little boy running to his mummy.

I thought Jef was being clever adding a PS note to the end of his earlier comment.  If it was meant to be a broadcast of his next throw at the time -R (P S)- and martin would have guessed at this ploy and thrown Rock, then Jef's Paper (R P P) would have won.  Stunning tactics.
