I think i understand Rosh;- The Master teaches by explanation & example from events & questions. The onus is on the student to learn what is taught thereby teaching oneself. Student Centred Learning, focus is on that individuals needs thereby identifying what can be taught informally by The Master. Gleaning is the informal learning from association with The Master by the student to acquire the knowledge & skill of a master. The Master learns from the student what to teach to remain The Master.
That took considerable meditation! I am a slow learner i fear.
I recall the lesson about on line simulations not being real RPS. The difference between seeing thinking & seeing playing is interesting. I will send a private messages on this one which may raise the question of seeing a future for RPS on the new global streets.
Cheers Max

Hey Max, I think I know why I didn't get the challenge. My user name is RCohrs, with no space. This will have to be updated on martin's list.
Franklint, I sent you a challenge.

Hi Franklint, Sorry about the late response.
Fortunately your War Cry fell on deaf ears.
Wars are generally fought over ownership or power. I do not believe in owning other people. Enforced power over another person is a crime against humanity. An individuals human rights include giving some powers to other people. It can not be taken unless it is first given freely.
I believe in resolving differences by peaceful means. Our ancient ancestors devised RPS for that purpose. Unfortunately it was forgotten by modern man when they discovered technology like gunpowder.
You & I are fortunate to have met masters of the old skills from whom to learn the art of peaceful conflict resolution.
The best way to compete is to co-operate. To do that effectively we must both learn. Learning is a life long process. The successful learner seeks to learn from every experience. You may have taught me to glean by that method.
I look forward to learning more from you in our RPS ladder match
The question is;- will I be learning as a master or a novice?
Cheers Max Ps I can’t do them smiley things yet! - - - - - -***** Custard I am not into sucking. I do believe in constructive feedback.
Thanks for chucking the chuck down chuck. A wise decision. I am blowing gaskets here just coping with the ladder!!!
thanks Max PS whats the price we pay???

I believe in resolving differences by peaceful means. Our ancient ancestors devised RPS for that purpose. Unfortunately it was forgotten by modern man when they discovered technology like gunpowder. Gunpowder was first discovered in China, where it was used sheerly for non-violent purposes like fireworks. Only when Marco Polo brought gunpowder back to Europe was it used to create violent weapons of war. One must meditate deeply on this, especially considering that the story is probably apocryphal. The best way to compete is to co-operate. Buckminster Fuller is credited with creating a "World Game" based on just this principle. Each player represents a country or faction, and the only way to win the game is cooperate with other societies to trade goods and materials, "advantaging all while disadvantaging none." Like gunpowder, RPS can be used peacefully or non-peacefully; it is stable when at rest and explosive when at work. Unlike the world game, RPS is intensely competitive. A situation in which both players are at peace with each other would remain an eternal stalemate. A worthy goal in its own right, but that's not what makes horse races. A beginning RPS player wants to win every throw. A student wants to win every match. An advanced player will learn to compete by cooperating. A Master knows that there is a time for competition and a time for cooperation; a time for winning and a time for losing; a time for peace and a time for war.

Well, I'm pretty sure that Martin smoked me 4-1.
I just challenged Scissorsista, face to face, and she refused to play me.
I call that a forfeit.
Please adjust the records accordingly, Martin.
Regards custardchuk

custardchuk's challenge against me:
PRS RRS - custardchuk SSS PPR - martinburley
martinburley wins 4-1.
I've updated the ladder accordingly.
My reversed Fistful o' Dollars proved too powerful for custardchuk, and lifts me above him in the ladder.
As for your match against ScissorSista, custardchuk, you know the rules. Send her your opening throw via rpsgame and if she doesn't reply within a week, claim your forfeit then. She knows those are the rules, too, so she's probably just trying to get you riled at the moment. We'll see.

Sorry about having "Russell" in the above throw list. I copied it straight out of the text document I was using to record, and I decided to use your real name. Of course, I don't know whether your first name is even spelt like that. So sorry if there are too many "s"s or "l"s.
Anyway, when I try to challenge you on rpsgame.com, I get the following message:
"You already have game 137780 in progress with this opponent.". This is odd, if you say you didn't receive it. Perhaps you should try sending me the next challenge. Otherwise, we may have to get in touch with the rpsgame administrators.
Cheers, Franklint

Rosh, Thanks for the clarification Master. It is indeed an ancient tale from before the time of the 14 books & myths & legends A time when lessons were passed by signs of hands & mental notes as if in dreams to next generations. Many facts were lost in fiction; many fabulous events preceding the dawn of authentic history were untold or misrepresented by authors. However – these messages are still transmitted by telepathic dreams.
I could not understand my early success in this game and could only credit it to telepathy.
I assumed the Master sending the messages was you Master Roshambola.
I am sorry if I was wrong in that assumption.
Thank you Rosh Max
I hope to know when the time is right to stop when it is wrong. There is much to learn on this issue.
Meditate I will
