I could not understand my early success in this game and could only credit it to telepathy.

I assumed the Master sending the messages was you Master Roshambola.

I am sorry if I was wrong in that assumption.

No, you were right; it was me.

Alright Franklint, I used rpsgame.com to re-send the challenge to myself, but it didn't work for some reason.  It said there was one, but it still didn't show.  I will send you a challenge though.

You spelled my name right, and I don't mind if you use it, although it is kind of a faux pas.  Here's a story for you about that:

However, a similar but comparatively overlooked moment came the next year during an in-ring interview by "Marvelous" Marc Mero, who was frustrated with the quality of his competition, perennial curtain-jerker Sal Sincere. "I can't believe Vince McMahon sent 'Marvelous's Marc Mero out to wrestle a jobber," said Mero.

This was mind-blowing stuff. Sure, internet-savvy fans knew that enhancement talent had the job of losing all their matches, and that these wrestlers were called "jobbers," but no one had ever actually used the phrase. Mero then clarified, for the audience's benefit, that jobbers were enhancement talent who had the job of losing all their matches.

"Your name isn't even Sal Sincere at all!" accused Mero. "Your name is Tom Brandi."

Oh my god! thought internet-savvy fans everywhere. He... he just told him what his name was!

Max,

Sorry if I seemed mean or whatever.

Just thought I'd set the record straight and say that I'm happy that you're now Rosh's student.

Indeed he isn't owned by anyone.

It's 1 in the morning because I've been doing homework after coming back from a music concert. Which is why my post makes no sense, isn't even slightly coherent and has no point.

Cheers,
Franklint

1am on a school night?  With homework due?  And you went to listen to some AC/DC cover band with your hoodlum friends?

I hate to say it, but I think I made the right decision to deny your application for apprenticeship.  Your studies are already suffering from your rebellious attitude.  Adding RPS studies to the mix would only have made things worse...for everyone.

I'm sorry; I truly am.

But this learning i share

t'was all in the game
I am glad you are Happy
and I feel the same.

YOUR Master is teaching

Rosh,
I'm not quite as rebellious as you make me out to be.

In fact, the concert was a piano and cello duo who played a program of French music. My mother helped organise it (and acted as taxi and friend to the pianist and her family), and was given three complimentary tickets. Being the wonderful son I am, I agreed to go along to keep her company, despite really wanting to stay at home and finish my homework.

The concert went from about 8PM until about 10, but after it was over, the pianist and her family insisted I accompany them to T42 (a restaurant/café/bar place) to have a hot chocolate, which went until about 11.30. After getting home at about midnight, I worked steadily until about 1, and then thought I'd check out the Bullboard.

However, I'm glad you feel you made the right decision regarding my apprenticeship.

Max,

Nice poem.

I am glad you have no worries.

Rosh rejected my apprenticeship application, and thus, is not "MY Master". He's yours.

But anyway.

Hey, chuk,

I notice Franklint said somewhere in the ladder thread that he's now your apprentice.

I'm a little surprised by that. I mean, I thought he was aiming to become a talented, successful RPS player.

Sad to see someone so young giving up on his dreams already...

Cheers,

martinburley

Thank you Martin for your kind thoughts, you bogan.

For Franklint to suggest that I am his Master may be a little youthful
overexuberance. I am providing Franklint with some assistance, mainly lessons on "losing" and "losing with attitude". I don't think I'll get any arguments here that you cannot be a winner until you know how to lose. (Martin, you would do well to remember this. If you are going to wander around with your head in the clouds, you'd want to make sure your feet are on the ground.)

Most of this training is really just part of my role as Chairman of RPSOZ and I do the same for many young players on a day to day basis. That is not to say I will never take Franklint as a full time apprentice but at this stage he has plenty to learn yet that does not require me. Quite frankly, I have done my time wetnursing and I'm happy to leave that to other lesser talents. Maybe you could take him on Martin.

regards
custardchuk

Someone tell Franklint and Max that I can read through them both.  All this talk about "apprenticeship" and what not, yet you're both schooling me something fierce right now.  Granted, I've been sick and slightly delusional/hallucinating for the last 5 days, but you're still not fooling me.

martinburley and custardchuk,

Now now children, play nice. While I love getting any tips I can from either of you, I am not actually apprenticed to anyone. My claim of being apprenticed to custardchuk was a failed attempt at making Rosh feel like he was missing out on something. It was a rather extreme measure that was posted only out of impulse.

Although, martinburley, you are quite right. If I'm interested in good gameplay, I ought to steer well clear of custardchuk. Unless by "good", I mean "losing".

I don't think I'll be seeking a Master for a little while, after Rosh's rejection Wink.

R Cohrs,

You found out that I am actually an RPS living legend, through my masterful play. A shame. Please don't spread it around. You see, I like pretending to be rubbish so as to put my opponents in just the state of mind I'm after.

In any case, I'm only beating you by one win. I'm sure you'll get it back. Have you tried sending me a challenge yet? I haven't received one if so.

Very bad to hear you're sick. While this is beneficial for me during our game, in the scheme of things I hope you get better soon.

Cheers,
Franklint

P.S. My other nephew has now been named, and they're "Isaac" and "Dempsey". I am totally aware of what a terrible name the latter is, but please blame my sister, not me. "Demp" as a nickname isn't totally hopeless, when you think about it. Again, any comments on/questions about the two newest additions to my family should be sent via PM so as to avoid hijacking the thread.

custardchuk,

I'm very glad. It seems I surpass even you in some instances, in terms of being a bad person. There I go, jumping to conclusions about names. I think the "sey" bit at the end makes it sound either feminine or fluffy-bunnyish. But yeah.

Well played R Cohrs, successfully defending against Maxamillion's challenge. (In fact, out of the four matches so far, the challengers have lost every time!)

There's no rest for the wicked, though, as my postponed challenge against you has now become live. I'll send the first throw your way shortly. I'm hoping to break that trend I just mentioned.

Also Rosh has begun his challenge against me.

I've updated the ladder standings.

Sounds good martin.  I'm still working on one with Franklint, I think he's up 3-2, but I might be wrong.
