I'm announcing the commencement of the inaugural "chuks chuckDown" tournament.
It is not to be confused with any MotBB related tournament. (which has been run and won. Thank you.)
chuks chukDown is an elimination tournament to be run over a long time and to rules that I am yet to estabilish.
The basic premise is that the given number of players will play a round robin for points and after each round robin the lowest point scorer will be eliminated.
I will make up the rules soon.
Who's in?
regards custardchuk
(Franklint, do you want to run it for me?)

Sounds like fun. Count me in too.
Woah, what an honour. Sure, I'd love to run it for you. Just let me know what the rules are and how it will be run, and I'll give it a shot. Thanks a lot custardchuk. Good to see I've finally entered your circle of trust.
Cheers, Franklint

Good to see I've finally entered your circle of trust. I was tempted to make a snarky remark about custardchuk's circle of trust, but I don't want to risk being chucked out of chuk's chukdown. Instead I'll just warn you, Franklint, to be careful. custardchuk's circle of trust is fine, nothing to fear there (unless he asks you to buy the beers), but if anyone tries to lure you into joining the [shape] of [negative quality], steer well clear!

Don't get too excited Franklint, it's just RPSOZ are often too drunk and always too lazy to run a comp! cheers Sis x

This is a throw in the right direction chuck. Round robins etc. might be a bit much for my first attempt & a ladder might be easier for me to climb.
I said earlier i can only handle one at a time & i know that is my problem.
If everyone goes for this one then i am in for a try.
If you and Martin can agree which one to try first for a time period then i could try both this year.
Cheers Max

OK,
First round will be starting soon.
Players in, whether they like it or not.
Midnight Rider C. Urbanus. Franklint Burley Max Cohrs Scissorsista Dcn Darlo (whoops, forgot me. I'm playing too.)
More people can be accommodated as I haven't finished making up the rules. So if you want to play say so.
But everyone will play every one else in round 1.
I'll wait a couple of days and fire it up. Franklint will be doing the admin.
regards custardchuk

And there will be a couple of RPSOZ t-shirts, maybe a bottle of Roshambo, up for grabs. And a crap trophy.

martinburley, thanks for the warning. The excitement builds... Muchly looking forward to administrating the whole event. Also, some good news custardchuk. The pimple on my forehead is nearly gone. This means I shall soon be taking a picture of myself in the jersey, which means I will soon be sending it back to you. Never fear! Also also, for any of you who have been watching the description under my avatar, I have changed my tournament name again. I used to be "Jankenpwn!" (which is a play on "pwn", geek-speak for "dominate"). I then updated it to "The Jankenpwneriser" (Same idea), and now something much less obscure. Beware the wrath of... Will "Paper Crane" Pridmore! Cheers, Franklint

Yep, Max. Max is you. If you have any doubts, just wager custardchuk a beer that Max is you, and you'll find that, whether or not Max originally was you, he is now.
Sorry for confusing you. I just confused myself with that last paragraph.
Looking forward to having you in the tournament. Hopefully we'll play each other at some point in the tourney, so I can gauge your skill and offer some (rather amateurish) advice on how to progress further with your knowledge and gameplay. I'm not much more experienced than you, which is another reason I'd like to have a chat to you to see what you know of the sport and how you got into it.
Nope, you haven't missed the start. custardchuk's just boozing off finalising the rules and working out how he wants the tournament to be run, and then passing the reigns (or should I say, reign) off to me, to see if I can successfully administrate a tournament (he'll have the other reign, you see). So look out for a post from me saying that the tournament's begun.
Cheers, Franklint

no worries Franklint confusious is my middle name!!
no need to wait for the tournament to start to sus out my skill level. you might have a beard longer than rosh if we wait for custardchuck to climb out of the pub.
martinburley showed me how to play via private messaging.
Perhaps we could try a game that way & give me some practice??
Hope to receive a challenge from you.
