A study of tae-kwando matches found that judges awarded competitors 13% more points when the competitors wore red rather than blue. (See this link for more.)

Needless to say, a 13% advantage is pretty significant, and could easily determine the outcome of a close match. So would wearing red give competitors any advantage in RPS tournaments? Or are RPS referees too skilled and experienced (or simply too accustomed to seeing competitors in all manner of outlandish costumes) for players' clothes to have any influence on their results?

might be worth a try for 13% edge.

same analysis has been made of football teams.

red is definitely a winning colour and muich of manchester uniteds success has been put down to their shirts.

Now the secret is out of the bag we will probably see a lot of Red rocks being thrown.

Why am I the first to point out that RPS is not a judged sport?

I'm hardly impartial - but I think there's a inverse relationship between how objective a sport can be judged and how much outside factors can influence the judging. The more personal opinion of the referee/judge comes into play - the more non-sporting elements can influence it.

I watched a fair amount of the Tae Kwon Do during the olympics - and given that I was unclear (even given the benefit of commentators, and slow motion replays) as to what constituted a "hit" - I'm not surprised in the slightest that these kind of controversies surface.

Just another reason I continue to believe the ref corps of RPS are the best in pro sports.

You mean that quote you grabbed from Rosh?

Yes, it would be surprising if you stopped using his words as your own.

You don't know your history SMS, Urbanus actually is the original author of his sig "Paper is the answer, should Rock be the question".

But more to the point "welcome seekers" is a greeting rather than a sign-off. Why don't you change your to "later seekers" or something like that.
