Given the current situation with the ladder tournament I wondered if people would be interested in trying this game i am hoping to develope.
SPRock ™ 7 (WorldRPS Bull Board Version)
What’s The Game Sprock 7 is a Rock Paper Scissors game in which a player defeats seven consecutive players to win the prize.
There are eight player places on each game panel, the initiator, six relay & one random player. The initiator starts with a match against 1st relay contact. First to win three shows wins match. Winner of match stay’s on to play 2nd relay contact. Winner stays on to play next relay contact (or random player if all relay players have played) As each match finishes a randomly selected player is added from registered game members Winning 7 consecutive matches within the timescale wins game & prize. When the game ends the next player due to play gets option to initiate new relay.
Game Members are invited to register to play in the game from a Wanabe in Game Thread. Invited players register a question answer & relay a question to the person they invite into the game. Game panel members will be invited from all correct answers registered. The game is open to people aged over 16yrs

What do Bull Board Members think of this idea?
I look forward to reading your comments.
Tentitive Max

SMS, you are not yet 16. Therefore, you are not participating.
As I too am about a month too young, Max has kindly asked me to help him out in the admin area, and help to get this show on the road. Hopefully with my reasonable computer skills and his big idea, we'll get this together.
I'm still not really sure how this whole thing's going to work, so I'm looking forward to learning more about it in the coming weeks. Max and I are in contact, and we'll be discussing various aspects of the game in order to come up with the smoothest and most effective way of putting it on.
I'll probably be staying in admin for a while, but when I hit 16, and if Max is handling it well, I may take a break and join up, if so allowed.
Bah, who cares what Jef says about the tourney? He's so slack, he can't even fix the typos in the descriptions of the boards, like I told him to. So, Jef, listen carefully. In the description for the Competition board, there needs to be a full-stop after "Tournaments". The same goes for the end of the description of the Ladder Tournament board. As for the Training board, the correct spellings are "physical" and "spiritual". Make these corrections, and not only will I be happy, but a much more professional atmosphere will be generated.
Cheers, Franklint

Thanks for coming on board Franklint & for your first act of assistance.
The 16 age limit is to comply with UK law on the prize competition's.
Hopefully enough people will express an interest so we can try it out.
i will PM you again tomorrow Franklint.
Cheers Max

I'm not sure what the purpose of having six relays in advance is.
To me it would make more sense that the "initiator" just plays challengers selected at random from the "random pool". If the initiator loses, then the person he's playing against becomes the new "initiator" (with 1 win) and plays a random draw... etc.
I do like having to chain seven consecutive wins. That's the amount of wins you would require to win a direct-elimination tournament with 256 people, and it would be a nice demonstrator of what a difficult challenge that actually is.

thanks for the interest & comments Brad.
Having six relayed contestants at beginning enables players to pick their own opponent & thereby increase chance of winning at least one Match as presumably they will know that persons form.
then having subsequent random players ensures all other registered game members get a chance to be on the first game panel.
If initiator looses a match the person who won becomes new initiator / SPRock 7 Challenger seeking to beat seven consecutive players. Thanks to your comment beating the initiator now counts as the first win.
Getting the chain of seven consecutive wins is the essence of the game. I am hoping it will develope to get 256 players on the board so the prize can get bigger. I will be happy with 10 for the first game.
Following feedback from RCohrs & Franklint on the need to make it easier to understand & handle at first I have decided to run a pilot game without the quiz & draw part.
Am sorting rules / procedures now for a pilot SPRock 7 panal game to be played.
Hope to have the Wanabe in game list on Bull board by end of next week.
Cheers Max

Truer words have never been typed, custardchuk. However, I'd like to keep this thread focused on Max's new relay-style game SPRock. Would you, for example, be interested in competing? The chance of playing an RPS professional would probably get more people into the game. Think about it. Cheers, Franklint P.S. That was far too easy, custardchuk. Come on, you should have seen that coming a mile off.

SPROCK ™ 7 (rpsworld pilot game) (abridged – no relay quiz)
RULES (Draft):
WHO CAN PLAY: The game is open to any person aged 16yrs or more, who has an e-mail address, an rpsgame username & a PayPal account.
HOW TO REGISTER AS GAME MEMBER: Join the I WANABE IN SPROCK GAME thread agreeing to play & include a promotional comment about yourself if you wish. First to enter will be the initiator. Subsequent entries will join the game & play in the sequence entered in the thread (ie. leg 1 to leg 6, and then random players). For this pilot game, people on the list will be deemed SPRock game members. IMPORTANT Only join the "I WANABE IN SPROCK 7 GAME" thread if you are committed to playing in the pilot SPRock 7 game. Please only nominate yourself, and do it in the correct (WANABE) thread so the list of players can be easily seen. Please post any comments or questions about the game on the SPRock – New Bull Board Game thread.
GAME FORMAT: First to win 2 matches against 7 consecutive game members in above sequence will win game & prize.
Game Master will instruct initiator by Private Message on WorldRPS to start matches. Initiator challenges leg 1 player (next player on WANABE thread) on RPSgame. Winner remains or becomes Initiator, sends the Game Master the result of the match & challenges leg 2 player (next on WANABE thread). Result of match posted on SPRock – new BB Game thread by player or Game Master as agreed. Matches continue in sequence until 1 player has SPRocked 7 consecutive players.
MATCH FORMAT: Matches are played over RPSgame immediately after being announced on WorldRPS. First to win 2 throws wins match. Initiator sends first challenge & throw to leg 1 player (next person on WANABE thread). Leg 1 player responds to that throw (by clicking on the RPSgame e-mail & choosing their first throw). Then leg 1 player clicks the "Challenge Someone" link on RPSgame & sends their next throw to the Initiator. Play continues to alternate in this manner until one of the players wins their second throw, ending the match.
MATCH FORFEITS This pilot game will run until there is a winner. It is hoped future games can be completed in 1 month. Match winners must issue challenge to next player immediately after winning & notifying Game Master / posting result or risk being disqualified & loosing their place in sequence. Player being challenged must reply within 72 hrs or forfeit their place to the next player.
PRIZE: The prize for this game (SPRock 7 pilot 1) is £10GBP payable via PayPal.
RULES: 1) Game Master is always right 2) No arguments entered into 3) Disagree with Game Master = Disqualified 4) In case of dispute see rule 1
EXAMPLE: Player sequence on WANABE thread: Ian Reg Rosh Rob Rod Rog Ruby Randy
Ian is Initiator, challenges & beats Reg to stay in game with 1 win credited. Ian challenges Rosh but loses, so Rosh stays in game with 1 win to his credit. Rosh challenges & beats Rob, so stays in game with 2 wins credited. Rosh challenges & beats Rod, so stays in game with 3 wins credited. Rosh challenges & beats Rog, so stays in game with 4 wins credited. Rosh challenges & beats Ruby, so stays in game with 5 wins credited. Rosh challenges & beats Randy, so stays in game with 6 wins credited. As only 8 players joined the WANABE list, the Game Master randomly selects one (Ruby). Rosh challenges & beats Ruby to win the game.

Hi everyone,
great news! Franklint has agreed to be a Game Master for the Pilot SPRock 7 event.
& there is more! We now have 3 wanabe players signed up.
RCohrs - Reigning 'King of the Ladder' as first on wanabe list will be the first initiator.
Custardchuck - world renowned RPS Profesional.
Darlo - The Uk's world championship challenger
Only 5 more players needed for a full panal of contestants. any one of whome could beat the king to take the lead & win the prize!!
IT COULD BE YOU. but only if your name is on the wanabe list.
Have you got the courage to have a go at SPRock 7.
Max
