Hi,

I'm a professional poker player. I work for www.cardrunners.com , a poker instructional site. We put out videos teaching people how to play various forms of poker, including Texas Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, Triple Draw, etc. The reason I'm here posting this thread is that I'm interested in collaborating with somebody who's well-versed in Roshambo theory and application. I want to create a video presentation that teaches the theory and strategies of roshambo, drawing parallels to poker and integrating their concepts together. I was wondering if somebody who frequents this forum might be a good candidate for this.

What I ask is that any who offer to help me with this project be 1) experienced at roshambo, 2) very well-versed in the theory, 3) a decent speaker, 4) be fairly punctual and industrious. You will be compensated for your help, and there is the possibility of repeated work. Any recommendations, nominations, or general advice are appreciated.

Shoot me a PM or post here if you're interested.

Master Roshambollah satisfies at least one of the conditions. He likes to be compensated.

I believe this may be Dogisheads post.

It's discusses, among other things, losing, and the Pavlovian response to losing, both concepts that are dear to my heart.

If this is indeed Dogishead, then I suggest the WRPSS should consider hiring Dogishead to make a video presentation that teaches the theories and strategies of poker, drawing parallels to RPS and integrating their concepts together.

Again I recommend Master Roshambollah. He is the only one of us who can write posts as long yours, Dogishead. Apparently, like yours, they are very good, so he says. (though I've never read one of his through.)

If nothing else you guys could talk for hours discussing his "RPS is a whore" versus your "Poker is a whore" theories.

You may also consider contacting martinburley who is the society's greatest exponent of playing RPS, theoretically, though not in practice.

martinburley revels in the statistical mores of the sport and though he has never won anything of note, he always has a pretty good idea why.

You'll find some of his work here that may have some relevance to poker players.

Regards putting him in front of a camera, let's just say he has a good head for figures.

Dogishead,

You should have your head examined if you plan on taking any of these jokers seriously.  Except for Jef; he had a rare moment of lucidity when he questioned the importance of punctuality among the RPS Elite.

First off, Master Roshambollah is nothing more than a vicious cult leader.  While it is true that his RPS abilities are often eerily precognitive, his overwhelming drive to become the "Voice and Face of Professional RPS" has left some of his supporters wondering if he still retains a spiritual connection to the sport.  Also, my sources indicate that his persona is actually the result of a complicated CIA brainwashing experiment to create a RPS savant for use in cover operations.  Still, he's got more experience than anyone in the field.  Tread lightly, but do tread.

Franklint is little more than a washed-up former Acolyte of Roshambollah's.  Though he is widely known to be Rosh's most succesful student, it is clear that he has not passed much beyond the earliest stages of Journeyman.

I would not rely on the opinion of custardchuk, as he is a known Australian and therefore a criminal.

Although Martin Burley has some media experience in his native New Zealand, he is mostly known as perhaps the best-publicized RPS underachiever since C. Urbanus.  Which is saying something...

I have been on the Bull Board since 2001, and I have weathered through many a World RPS Society scandal.  I would be more than willing to help you with your project, and require no compensation.  I have my own security concerns, and will therefore require that you shoot your footage on my own premises.  They are quite comfortable, especially considering their bunker-like nature and location deep in an abandoned mine shaft.  You and your crew will have to arrive blindfolded, and an associate of mine will pick you up from the airport.  And although I know I don't need to say this, you and your equipment will be thoroughly scanned.

I look forward to the propect of working with you, please contact me if you have any questions.

Now this I did not know. A pleasing credential. Thanks Al.

...it is clear that he has not passed much beyond the earliest stages of Journeyman.
Expert RPS Player (Advanced Journeyman) thank you very much...

Anyway, don't use Al. Similarly to martinburley, he seems to hide behind an online theoretical persona. I didn't seem him at Roshambo the year I went, and I'd wager he doesn't turn up at that many sanctioned tournaments, instead spending his time whining about one thing or another on the Internet.

I'm with custardchuk on this. My former Master is quite experienced at talking on camera, and he has a great series of RPS videos over at VideoJug (http://www.videojug.com/tag/rock-paper-scissors). To save on wages, you could get one of his strategy videos from there, and PhotoShop your own head next to his to simulate a real life meeting.

Do you pay airfares to come across for the filming? If so, choose me. I've read the Strategy Guide.

Cheers,
Franklint

Franklint "I've read the Strategy Guide."

Cool  That was your first downfall.  I figured Rosh would snap this up for compensation, or Burley because he's way into the analysis.  If anything, I'm glad this opportunity was posted, because I've been going over strategies in my head for the last couple days.  And I came to the conclusion that strategy is as meaningless as the player.
