If I recall, the first time I heard of this team was in '06 when they arrived in street clothes, with no team markings, and had one of them finish T-9th on stage losing to Bob the champ. The chants HIGH YOU SIP!!! HIGH YOU SIP!! were confusing, but they've become quite familiar over the past few years. Since '06, they've become more recognizable, now known for their yellow team shirts, very odd looking but entertaining red cowboy hats, and the new chant "ALLLLLLLLL-co -HOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!! I remember seeing one guy that had run out of street bucks, so he challenged somebody using his red hat as collateral. (Melissa DiMarco enjoyed their company as well - she probably just wanted to wear the hats though.)
Nice guys - they've invented the possible currencies beyond street money (costume/props), and kept it a great time even for those out of the tournament and out of street bucks.
I wonder what they'll bring us this year? I'm guessing they'll go back to their understated look, since they failed to get ONE person in the top 16 last year.

Last year was merely a blip for us in the overall rankings. This year we'll be back to normal with several of our team members finishing high in the rankings, and even winning.
Melissa DiMarco loved us!
Team HighYouSip will be very easy to spot in the crowd once again this year!

Costumes and teams are so 2003.
But, hey, if it works for you...plus since Smoot left there is a large void to be filled re: yelling.
Not quite sure who this player Melissa DiMarco is, which is weird as I know most of the women on the circuit.
Best of strategy to both you and your team.

Re your costumes comment - I wondered - is that why the date is moved well past Halloween this year, so that only the true freakos show up in messed up garb and to discourage the normal folk? Melissa DiMarco - I'm new to the forum, so I'm not sure if you're a happy-go-lucky sarcastic fellow, or if you really don't know who she is... contrary to many people's belief, there is life outside the circuit! Being THE C. Urbanus, it could go either way... google her, or just go here: http://www.outtherewithmelissa.com/She was there last year with her camera guy. I guess I need to change my name to 2010 Champ now... (no offense to the 2009 winner from Michigan - GO BLUE!)
Looks like High You Sip, had a good run this year, although a string of failures in the round of 32 prevented them from owning the stage.
great night, all!

Could a certain other place be prepared to hold the contest last minute?

Good question, Wakefield. A group of high-level professional players (not including members of HighYouSip, regrettably) made the pilgrimage in 2010, despite the cancellation of the tournament. In many ways, it was one of the best years ever. We found a potential replacement for the sadly lamented players' bar Good Tymez, a new hotel base of operations right by Kensington, and for once nobody had anything to do on Saturday night.
Last year was a wash, as regards Toronto; Outreach had a fact-finding mission to Darwin, Australia. Said mission was a resounding success; we found three full facts and one unsupported hypothesis. But this tour left many members of Outreach with depleted funds and vacation time, making the annual trip to Toronto inconvenient to say the least. It was the first time in nine years I did not visit the Big Smoke.
As summer drags into Fall, one can still here the voice "This is just the time of the year we go to Toronto." This voice is usually that of C. Urbanus, yet even his dulcet tones grow fainter and fainter as time passes. Though there is the glimmer of a new hope on the horizon, for now our times in Toronto would seem to be on hiatus.
