I recently ran across an article concerning a charity tournament held at the Esquire Club in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario (
http://www.sootoday.com/content/news/full_story.asp?StoryNumber=45901).
In the article, "Matt Patreau, program director for the Esquire Club, told SooToday.com that he hopes to have the event registered next year with the World RPS Society. As a sanctioned event, the winner would be eligible to move on to compete in the championship in Las Vegas."
Discounting the confusion between a sanctioned event and a registered (?) one, Patreau seems to be confusing two separate sanctioning bodies: World RPS and USARPS.
To make matters more confusing, at first glance the tournament seems to be using leftover USARPS tournament gear.

However, the astute observer will notice that the competition platform actually bears a rare "Bud Light Rock Paper Scissors" logo, and does not contain any mention of USARPS. These logos began appearing in the last year of Bud Light sponsorship of Professional RPS, and irritated the USARPS brass to no end.
However, it does not appear that Anheuser Busch had anything to do with this event;
another article mentions that this tournament was sponsored by "Blue Light."
I'm certainly not suggesting any course of action, and include this matter only as a curiosity. It seems that after many years of branding efforts by both organizations, the general public doesn't know the difference.
