I read the FAQ, and i know that it is recommended that I call this game by its official title here, RPS, but I really have trouble with that.
Ever since I was a little kid at kamp (see, I even spell camp wrong), I would be one of the best Farkler's around. I loved to farkle, and i still do.
Farkling is something that I can always count on to solve disputes and bring friends back together (after a 3 minute huffy stage).
Farkling has done all this for me. But now I learn that most people world wide call this ancient and respected game the abbreviated title of RPS.
RPS doesn't do it for me. It conveys nothing emotive. It is an abbreviation. It's not a name. Its even an abbreviation of a description, not even a name to originate from.
Farkling conveys so much love and competition, I can't imagine betraying it and leaving it behind. I will always in my mind refer to "RPS" as the most gentile term, the game of "Farkle".
Dax, who is off to farkle himself on whether or not to do some laundry...
