I don't believe there is anything sinister in the Think Three cover to which you refer, Joe. In a manner opposite most magazines, T3 is printed and mailed directly to subscribers in the last half of the month listed on the cover, and arrives on magazine stands in the first half of the following month.
Perhaps if you actually subscribed to the magazine you would have figured this out on your own.
As regards the Think Three covers, I didn't find the cover blurb and subsequent article on Rosh's disappearance nearly as interesting as the December 2001 cover. When I first received my copy and removed it from the opaque packaging, I exclaimed to myself, "Why, isn't that Josh, that intern from the Media Brigade on the cover?"
Indeed it was! Below the picture was the legend, "Player Profile Josh Hampton: Why I Love Scissors." Before I saw this magazine cover, I didn't even realize that Josh had a last name! The article is pretty cool, and the T3 staff was definitely prescient in putting him on the cover, LONG before he won the 2002 PanAm Games! I recently via satellite viewed a speech Josh was giving in Sao Paolo on his post PanAm South American tour. He spoke intelligently and well, and made some very interesting strategic points on the use of scissors in high level play. A commentator followed up by saying that Josh is fast becoming the most well-known modern proponent of this throw, and that he may do more for the image of Scissors than any player since Billy Shears, back in the 60s. Congrats, Josh, and well done Think Three!
