Just a brief note to let you all know that construction has officially ended at the DC Metro Office. There had been a problem with one of the street-facing walls, and the Society saw fit to expand as well as fix up. There are now over 30 nice new empty office spaces just waiting to be filled. I even got a slightly larger space for the Roshambollah Library (though his main study has remained untouched.)
Stu Vessant, just down the hall, is loving his office, and seems to be in there much more often than his "Part-time" status with Developmental Affairs would warrant. As always, I'm more than slightly curious as to what DA actually does. I'm envious of the swell stickers and magnets Stu got upon his application, and could have sworn I heard him mention something about an "RPS Convention" while on the phone (though I, like all gentle folk, abhor eavesdropping.)

We have had quite a few job applications since the renovation began. Curiously enough, many from the DC office of Arthur Andersen, which is just down 16th street from here. Ironically, Roshambollah worked at Andersen doing *something* (not quite sure what) up until his untimely demise. I wonder how he would be responding were he still there.

One sad bit of news today. "Crusty", Rosh's cat and unofficial RPSDC Metro Office mascot had to be put to sleep today following a brief but debilitating illness. Crusty was much loved around these parts, and we had even taught him to play a rudimentary form of RPS (by batting at a piece of paper, a foam rock, and a plastic pair of scissors.) His loss will be greatly felt, and we are all quite bummed out.

Which is why we all gathered today to go out and appreciate the cherry blossoms. We even gave the interns half a day off. It was a trifle cold, but our general mood was Viva Spring! As the Year of the Rock rolls on, I urge you all to play RPS with someone you love today.
