Dear Sir Humphry,
I’m thrilled to see another royalist in our midst! I cried non-stop for two days when the Queen Mum passed on (cried five days straight for Princess Di). I would like to express both to you and to the general consumers of this Board that when I first became elected Moral Officer, I attempted to institute a policy whereby all games would be cancelled on the days of weddings, births, deaths and funerals of members of the British Royal Family. And not just in Britain, but worldwide. And perhaps the Queen’s birthdays too (but just in Britain). Honestly, what else are people going to be doing on those days anyway?
I have some great news, HURRAY! I know for a fact that my initial request has passed through several committees after I sent it to the Tournament Policy Task Force (which for some reason was the wrong place to start), and is now sitting in the in-tray of Joshua Swayzee, Temporary Assistant to the Steering Committee Agenda-Writer. I think that the request made it so far is a very positive sign for the future of this Society.
Love, and thumbs up to all!
Rose
