See question one of the RPS Society FAQ.

I've been a long time RPS Society member, but I feel it is time for me to stand up and be counted. The existing amendment that allows honor games must be struck down!

I find frivolous RPS games to diminish the value of our noble game. I can only shake my head when I see children playing rounds of RPS with nothing to be won, nothing to be gained, but "honor." Having won, the victor has nothing to show for it, and what do they do? Play again, AS IF THE PRIOR GAME DIDN'T HAPPEN!

An "honor" game is but a shadow of a true RPS game. When something is to be won, not taking out the garbage, or getting the largest slice of pizza, for example, the intensity of the game is palpable. The players play with every muscle and thought tuned to achieving victory. By God, there's a prize to be had!

An "honor" game, on the other hand is just going through the motions. Honor proponents will claim that indeed losing an honor game tarnishes your RPS standing, and there is teasing to be had. I submit that the intrinsic value of such teasing is negligible. It is rarely remembered beyond the next round.

Everyone, at the next international RPS Society conference, please visit my booth, and sign the petition to strike down the honor amendment.

Thank you, and let's restore the dignity of our revered game.
