Over the years that this community has been online, we've heard a number of five-throw variants described. Some of these manage to obtain balance similar to the traditional three-move RPS. The question, in my mind, has never been whether such variants are worthwhile, but whether any modified form of the game can still be considered to be RPS.
Consequently, in the process of developing a new version of the game utilizing a wider variety of throws or possibilities, I believe it would make more sense to eschew the original three names and create the throws and rationales (what beats what) from scratch.
Perhaps a member of the Theoretical Throws Bureau could respond.
