Paper Clipping is superior to Cloaking

In a recent article written by the young Bennett Mueller (Junior Chancellor of Theoretical Throws) he points out that Cloaking is merely a bad version of Paper Clipping.

For the beginners out there - Cloaking is attempting to make your opponent think that you are throwing rock, but then with a late change, throwing paper instead. This strategy will usually result in a stalemate due to the fact that your opponent will likely also respond with paper also. This is due to the fact that he/she felt that you were throwing rock.

A better approach would be to use Paper Clipping. PC is essentially Cloaking but instead of switching at the last minute to paper, you would switch to scissors and "clip" your opponent.

Experts will point out that this is a more difficult maneuver due to the fact that it takes slightly more time to switch to scissors as it does to flatten your hand straight into paper. Therefore, this allows you a few less milliseconds to hold out your rock fake.

Mr. Mueller correctly pointed out though that the expected return still increased by 8.6% with Paper Clipping over Cloaking. His work in this area is certainly beyond the scope of this message board but suffice it to say that the time given up from the rock deception is more than offset by the "kill rate" increase from scissors vs paper.
