Nor can I, Arbiter. In the air was a mixture of local incense, burning powder (from the fireworks, though that came later), cigarette smoke, and dead fish (unfortunately the location was downwind at high tide.) But most people recall something decidedly different. No clue.

Curious, that. Several possibilities exist: perhaps I went for a somnambulistic walk and don't remember. Perhaps (though the most unlikely hypothesis) someone else was in my prone post-830 position or impersonating me abroad. Perhaps, I was travelling in a semi-substantial etheric form. Or maybe my mischievous Doppelganger was out and about (not the first time THAT'S happened. My Double gets into quite a bit of trouble, and I tend to get all the blame while experiencing none of the fun.) Again, no further clue.

: Question 1: Who set off the fireworks?

Easy answer here. There was an unconnected local celebration held the same night. Don't know what for, maybe Balinese New Year, or maybe a political or religous holiday. Anyone?

No clue about the authorities or my brother. Randolph, if you're reading this, could you chime in? And before anyone comes to a false conclusion, though Randolph and I are brothers, we look nothing alike, and have substantial physical and kinesthetic differences. So IF someone was impersonating me (which I totally doubt) it most likely was not he.

One major question I have is this: Where's Ray Plum? Of all my detractors, I would have expected Ray to be wringing his hands in a display of "I knew this was gonna happen." I didn't see him at the party, which was expected, but I was sure he would have chimed in before now. Why haven't we heard from him? Perhaps to deflect suspicion against him? I sincerely do not know. Hopefully this matter will become more clear, but somehow I doubt it.
