: I can't believe you guys. This is the stupidest website I have ever seen. As my friend said, "a child with down syndrome could play this game" I laughed at how true it was. You people are idiots. If you think I haven't seen any of these strategies used in actual games that require strategy, you're wrong. Games like chess, checkers, stratego, chess variations like shogi and chinese chess, etc. use these psychological things all the time. You are people with no lives that have nothing better to do than to "analyze" this child's game. I am severely stupified by your crap. Your articles, FAQs, "strategies", grandmasters, rules, responsibility codes, controversial issues, etc. all disgust me! 3 words, GET A LIFE.
I don't object to the fact that psychology is an important part of games like chess, especially between high level players. However, since chess, checkers, shogi, etc. are games of perfect information the psychological aspect does not have much to say compared to the players' abilities to analyze the board position tactically and strategically.
For games of imperfect information, such as stratego, most card games like poker and bridge, and RPS the situation is very different. Because neither player knows everything about the current position psychology plays an integral part of the game. In order to win you need to find out how your opponent is thinking. A chess player only has to analyze the position and doesn't really have to consider the opponent as such at all. When playing chess you usually assume that your opponent is playing the best move possible. In RPS 'the best move possible' hardly has any meaning, because it depends on much more than the 'position' of the current game.
You also call RPS a child's game. That is true. Children play RPS. But children also play chess. Chess and RPS are similar in the way that it can be enjoyed at different levels. Both the novice and the expert find pleasure in a good game of chess or RPS. That is exactly what makes chess and RPS such wonderful games.
And finally - you were trying to post an image in your mesasge and used an .html file as the image source? Honestly...
