Well. Now that we've finished with that, I would like to say (and so will say) that I've just found this site, so I am somewhat unversed in the mores and rituals.
But there is a deep, perhaps even genetic, thing going on here. My great-great-grandfather (who also held Grant's horse at Appomattox) was the original RPS grand-champion of Eire, tournament held in 1851, records sadly destroyed by the evil Brits in the uprising some years later.
Despite the lack of provenance I feel I have come home nonetheless.
