: All of the popular claims of the origins of rps miss the carefully concealed inner teachings. RPS has survived, not because it is a method of solving disputes, or as a popular pastime, but due to it's inherent spiritual strength. In the same way Egyptians coded messages in the Tarot, the ancient roshambo school embodied their teachings in a deceptively simple "game", realizing that while the quest for knowledge may falter, the drive for entertainment, gambling, and competition will always be with humanity.

: The nature of the holy trinity of roshambo is fairly unique among other tripartate belief systems. It does not belong to the Hegelian Dialectic of thesis-antithesis-synthesis (two opposing forces reconciled and united in a third.) The three forces are complementary, and are here for the first time (to my knowledge)publicly stated: the trinity relates to the concepts of body, mind, and spirit.

: ROCK-some fakers have proclaimed rock as synonomous with body. As if such a thing could be! Rock is one with spirit. It represents the eternal "on this rock will I build my church." It is the fire at the center of the earth, the center of being, case up through layers of illusion into the phenomenal world.
: SCISSORS-are identified with mind, as with many occult systems, where the dagger or sword represents the mind, and it's abilities to discern or "cut through" false images.
: PAPER-then, is the body, produced from the earth as paper is pulped from trees. The body is the "paper" on which we write the stories of our lives.

: The nature of the trinity becomes clear. Rock crushes Scissors, as the Spirit will unfailingly destroy the false ego, the false attachments of the mind. Only then will the spirit find freedom! Scissors cut Paper, as the Mind is revealed as the master of the body, not the other way around. Finally, Paper covers Rock, as the Spirit is indeed concealed within the body for our earthly adventures. Consider that two of the outcomes involve destruction or mutilation; only spirit remains indestructible (solving the question that has provoked many an rps scholar, "how does paper beat rock?")

: This, of course, is an elementary introduction to the inner teachings. There is much, much more. My students' course of study involves perfecting all three aspects in a certain ratio. Their rock must be solid, their paper pure, their scissors sharp. Only then do they rise to the level of their perfection. Our practices include specific physical-energetic exercises, mnemonics, ritual, divination and "occult" martial arts. Yes, even the dreaded "Dark Mudras" or use of the throws for spellcasting is covered, though at that point in their studies, my students are far too advanced to consider them for anything but self protection. My student's uncanny abilities to forecast opponents' throws are simply a result of knowing these, and other inner truths. They are no more "psychic" than anyone else. But they are skilled practitioners, and dangerous opponents. Our "matches" have ceased to take on the element of decision, or even "playing for honor", which was part of my expulsion from polite rps society. Our all-night rps sessions tell fantastic stories, of world history, and beliefs. Fact and fantasy blend in perfect harmony. You simply have not experienced a story such as "Parcifal" or "The Ring of the Nebellung" until you have seen the dynamic forces played out as two or three rps players reconstruct them in the familiar form so loved by us all.

: I hope this broadsheet has been instructive, and I hope I have not offended anyone. I do not return to the rps world to create dissension, nor to provoke rebellion. The old ways are done, and I fully support the current world rps heirarchy, though our aims are different. A new generation will arise to unite these disparate worlds. The future, as always, is in your hands.
