Dear Master Roshambollah,
A few thoughts on your thoughts:
: I think the design concept is great...
I concur.
: -The quotes about each throw (for the Avalanche, "subtle, yet aggressive) will no doubt amuse and interest non-WRPSS members, providing each of us with tremendous opportunities for Outreach.
This Avalanche design is almost exacly similar to the ones we used to silk screen ourselves at Outreach-NJ. Then we'd sell them outside the Holland Tunnel on the weekends. We never were too successful (but these new shirts don't look so home made). Then we tried switching to selling flowers to the traffic, but got muscled out by the locals.
: -I am sure that the Three Paper Gambit will be referenced as "The Bureaucrat" instead of the classic "Confetti". Mind you, I do not have a problem with the name "Bureaucrat"; it is certainly more humorous than "Confetti". The problem I have is with revisionist history, pretending that the Three Paper Gambit was never called Confetti. Those of us who have been around "for a minute" will no doubt continue to use the name Confetti. A minor point, but one worth mentioning.
Is there going to be a shirt for each Triple Gambit? I was under the impression it would be only for the Avalanche. If so, I would hope that The Bureaucrat is the name used for the Gambit in question. Although I won't deny its previous usage, I never did care much for the name Confetti. It always brought to mind a party move, not an RPS strategy.
: -Another idea for T-Shirt designs (again, fitting in with the "exceedingly cool" concept) would be a Japanese Animation style front, preferably in color, with two antagonists rushing each other, typical "motion lines" behind them, as each thrusts out their chosen throw. I, for one, do not have the artistic ability necessary for such a design, so can not actively propose it (plus, color costs $). A project, perhaps, for quieter times.
I like anything with motion lines as a part of the concept. But which two throws to use? Also, maybe I can ask some of my artist friends to draw this up.
Like Arbiter, I also thought that a wife beater was just a tank top. Is there another, more involved definition?
Sincerely,
C. Urbanus
